And here are the winners of the CH24 Watch of the Year competition.

Men’s watch: Jaeger-LeCoultre – Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds

An undisputed trend of recent times is the proud (and long-awaited) return of classic watches, with all their aesthetic minimalism, simple functionality, and elegant form. Classic watches are doing very well, awakening entirely new emotions in collectors who appreciate traditional watches. The Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Monoface – winner of the “Men’s Watch” category – combines the iconic, geometric yet elegant shapes of the classic Reverso with warm rose gold. The gold is used not only for the case but also for the fantastically ergonomic yet elegant mesh bracelet. Although the watch has sporty DNA, it was designed like a perfectly tailored suit, and it fits the wrist as such.

Sports watch: Chopard – Alpine Eagle 41 SL Cadence 8HF

A true timepiece with a sporty character should possess several features that allow it to be used in virtually any environment. One of these is durability, which didn’t prevent Chopard from combining it with an innovative movement. The Alpine Eagle 8 Hz has a lightweight titanium exterior, paired with a high-quality high-frequency movement. The experience is enhanced by a technical design in dark colors, contrasted by some fitting orange accents. Among the Alpine Eagle models, this watch is a standout.

Ladies watch: Hermès – Cut Le Temps Suspendu

How can you combine intriguing design, excellent watchmaking, and a touch of magic? Hermes has found the perfect recipe with the latest incarnation of the Cut Le Temps Suspendu. The rounded, ergonomically shaped watch, crafted from warm rose gold, features a complication that allows you to achieve what is practically impossible – suspend time. One press of a button, and it seems to freeze in poetic stillness, only to return to its proper place a moment later.

Men’s watch priced up to 3,500 euro: Seiko – King Seiko Vanac SLA083

The Japanese manufacturer Seiko’s position in the category of affordable, high-quality watches has remained unchallenged for years. The King Seiko Vanac – our this year’s winner in the category up to 3,500 euro – is a steel, integrated design with distinctive forms, meticulously crafted by Seiko down to the smallest detail. Based on archival references, the Vanac is a sports watch, yet with a touch of nonchalance, expressed by the violet dial and some golden appliques.

Ladies watch priced up to 3,500 euro: Frederique Constant – Classics Manchette

Women searching for the perfect timepiece constantly place great importance on its aesthetics. A watch is meant to be a piece of refined jewelry that highlights the character and passions of the wearer. The Frederique Constant Classic Machette looks like a beautifully crafted bracelet, where the small watch face serves as a modest (and yet functional) addition. The aesthetic integrity of the Machette exudes a balanced sex appeal, well-balanced elegance, and a subtle touch of decadence.

High watchmaking: Vacheron Constantin – Solaria Ultra Grand Complication

Watchmaking with a capital “G” constantly keeps discerning collectors, connoisseurs, and manufacturers eager to showcase their absolute best. Vacheron Constantin consistently proves itself to be one of the reigning kings in this category. The Solaria Ultra Grand Complication perfectly demonstrates the brand’s extensive experience. Forty-one different complications – six timekeeping functions, eight perpetual calendar functions, three lunar functions, 14 astronomical functions, and five chiming functions (including a minute repeater chiming the Westminster Melody), a chronograph with a sub-seconds scale, a double column wheel, and a power reserve indicator, along with tide, GMT, and world time – make it the world’s most complicated wristwatch, proudly crowning the manufacture’s 270th anniversary year.

Public prize: TAG Heuer Monaco Chronograph x Gulf

Who doesn’t want to be a little like Steve McQueen? The legendary American actor and undisputed style icon made the square Monaco by Heuer (TAG Heuer) one of the most emblematic watches in watchmaking history. The Monaco – classically with the crown on the left – in its new GULF version features a matte titanium case and a dial whose design was inspired by McQueen’s white racing suit from the film “Le Mans.”
