CH24 Watch of the Year 2022 – final gala, winners, awards

The 13^th edition of “CH24 Watch of the Year” has been crowned with the awards ceremony, which was held in Warsaw, Poland.

Watches are beautiful works of art, but watches are also people. Therefore it’s been with great pleasure that we celebrated the final of the 13^th edition of “CH24 WOTY” with a gala in Warsaw’s Hotel Verte. After two years of pandemic break it was an immense pleasure to host, in one beautiful place and intimate atmosphere, almost the entire Polish watch industry along with guests from abroad, collectors and journalist.

The venue for this year’s “CH24 Watch of the Year” edition was a newly opened hotel from the Marriott Autograph Collection, a very unconventional adaptation of the old Branicki Palace, right next to the Old Town. The event, hosted by Mateusz Hładki, was attended by more than 100 invited guests.

Hand made statuette of the CH24 “Watch of the Year” in the “Men’s watch” went to the Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222. Winner in the category “Men’s watch priced up to 3,000 euro” was Seiko for the King Seiko SPB279. On behalf of the Japanese manufacture the award was collected by Patricio Testart, Marketing & Sales Manager Seiko.

„Ladies watch” category for 2022 goes to a charming Rendez-vous Dazzling Star by Jaeger-LeCoultre. The statuette was collected by Łukasz Bernacki, chairman of the board at W. Kruk, brand’s distributor in Poland. “Ladies watch priced up to 3,000 euro” honored the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Professional 200 Lady Blue, and the award went to the hands of Mirela Książczak, Marketing Director at TAG Heuer Poland.

“Sports watch” of the 2022 is, according to the international jury, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF GMT. The statuette will be delivered to Fleurier by Christian Sieg, Managing Director at Parmigiani. In one of the 2022 new categories – “High Watchmaking” – the winners is an exceptional Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra. The award was accepted by Jean Christophe Cattin, General Manager Bulgari for Eastern Europe.

“Public Prize” – the category in which the laureate was chosen by CH24 readers, is won by probably the most discussed watch of the last 12 months – Swatch MoonSwatch “Mission on the Moon”.

Official part of the evening came to conclusion with two final categories. “Special Jury Prize” was awarded to Rolf Studer, Co-CEO of Oris. Rolf could not be with us due to his professional commitments, but award has been accepted on his behalf by Vladimir Kalensky, Janeba-Time chairman, Oris distributor in Poland. We did however received a special video-message from Mr. Studer.

Finally – the “Grand Prix” – the golden statuette for the best watch of 2022. Jury decided to award it to Vacheron Constantin Historiques 222. A thank you message on behalf of the brand has been provided by Clémence Charrier, Brand Director Central Europe.
