CH24 Watch of the Year – 15th anniversary edition!
Already for the 15th consecutive time CH24 selects and awards the most interesting new timepieces form the past […]
The 14th edition of the CH24 Watch of the Year competition was crowned with an awards ceremony at which the statuettes were handed over to the winning manufacturers.
On 30 October, we announced and awarded the most interesting watch premieres of the past 12 months, thus closing the book on this year’s edition of the CH24 Watch of the Year. The ceremony, hosted by Mateusz Hładki, was attended by more than 150 invited guests and took place in the historic interiors of the Verte Hotel near Warsaw’s Old Town.
Leszek Pilch (Brand Manager Longines Poland) accepted the statuette for the Spirit Zulu Time 39 mm model.
Roman Mayer (Sales & Marketing Manager Jaeger-LeCoultre) collected the trophy for the Reverso Tribute Chronograph – the best men’s watch.
Zbigniew Pietrzak (CEO of Zibi S.A.) at the ‘CH24 Watch of the Year’ gala represented Seiko and picked up the statuette for the Presage Coctail Time SRE007J1 on its behalf.
Peter Bodenbenner (Head of Marketing & Strategy Europe A. Lange & Söhne) received the award for the unique Odysseus Chronograph.
The statuette for the Chronomètre FB 3SPC1 went to Jonathan Richard (Marketing Manager Ferdinand Berthoud).
Baptiste Deheunynck (TAG Heuer Area Sales Manager Eastern & Southern Europe) at this year’s gala picked up the award that was given to the brand from La Chaux-de-Fonds by CH24 readers. It was with their votes that the statuette went to the Carrera Glassbox with blue dial.
The announcement of the Special Jury Prize, which the jury awarded this year to the late Gerd-Rüdiger Lang, the legendary founder of the Chronoswiss, was particularly emotional. A visibly moved and happy Georg Bartkowiak, who founded the brand Lang 1943 with Gerd-Rüdiger, accepted the award on behalf of his mentor.
Finally, Roman Mayer (Jaeger-LeCoultre Sales & Marketing Manager) took to the stage once again. This time he received the Grand Prix statuette, awarded this year to the Reverso Tribute Chronograph.
The CH24 Watch of the Year would not have been possible without the support of our friends. The main sponsor of the event was Porsche Centrum Warsaw Okęcie. During the gala, guests had the opportunity to see unique versions of cars from Stuttgart (including the Porsche RED58 Dakar) and Porsche Design watches.
This year’s partner was Moët Hennessy, part of the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Group (LVMH), owner of the Belvedere Vodka brand. The role of media patron for the CH24 Watch of the Year was once again played by Vogue Polska magazine, publisher of Vogue Leaders, with its Vogue Watches & Jewellery supplement created by CH24 team.
Honorary patronage of the event has been held by Swiss Embassy in Poland, represented by Matthias Dettling, Deputy Head of Mission.
Special thanks also go to you, dear CH24 readers. Without your active participation in the competition and your many votes in the “Public Prize” category, our competition would not have the stature it has acquired over the years.
